A Prayer for our Nation in Uncertain Times

A Prayer for our Nation in Uncertain Times

O LORD, when we, Your children, are apprehensive about what’s going on in our world, remind us that You are in this world as well as above and beyond it.

Remind us that You are not indifferent. For You are not a spectator God, high and lifted up, unconcerned and out of touch.

The feet that were wounded on the cross are still walking the trails of this earth. The heart that was broken on the tree still feels every human hurt.

Lord, may we not feel forsaken, nor be overcome with hopelessness. Because we know that ultimately you have a plan, and that Your will shall one day be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

Lord, please sustain us with that hope and encouragement, that our prayers be not in vain when we pray “Your Kingdom come.”

Because your Kingdom will come! However dark it may seem right now for peace on this earth, we pray that your light would shine – in the darkness of people’s minds and the hardness of people’s hearts.

“For the Kingdom of God is all about living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” Romans‬ ‭14:17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Forgive us, we pray, if we have any hidden hate in our hearts toward our neighbor.
Fill us with Your unconditional love.
Protect us from our enemies.
Use us, by the power of Your Spirit, to make a difference, first in our homes, then in our communities and in our world.

All these things we ask in that name above every name, that name before whom all nations of the earth shall bow, Your son, Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. Amen.
