Praying for Our World Today

Praying for our world today! It seems like when Christmas comes there is a pause for peace and joy and when the New Year comes we are back to fear and greed. Yikes! Here is my prayer…
“May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.”‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬
For years I wondered, what does it mean to pray, “May Your Kingdom come and may Your will be done.”

  1. When we pray, “May Your Kingdom come and may Your will be done”, we are praying for God’s kingdom rule and reign over our lives, over our family over our church, community and world. God is the King of the universe, I am not. I need to resign as CEO of the universe and surrender to His rule and reign.
  2. When we pray, “May Your Kingdom come and may Your will be done”, Romans 14:17 “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit…” I personalize this verse and pray, God may your Kingdom of Righteousness, right living with you and others,be found in my life; God May Your Kingdom of Peace dwell in my heart, in my families hearts, our church our community and world. God may your Kingdom of Joy in the Holy Spirit dwell in my heart and in all my situations I may find myself into today. May Your joy dwell within my families hearts in our church, community and world.
  3. When pray, “May Your Kingdom come and may Your will be done,’ we are obeying Jesus when he said in Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Please join me and pray for God’s kingdom to come and God’s will to be done in our world TODAY! Let’s cry out to God and believe that He will answer our prayers.
